People often ask why I started a podcast. For me, the answer is simple: I love hearing people’s stories. I see it as a way for others to leave a piece of their journey behind—something lasting and meaningful.
It all began during a road trip to Florida with my daughter in May 2022. I had mentioned several times that I wanted to start a podcast, especially one focused on interviewing racecar drivers. Racing has been a passion of mine since childhood. My daughter, ever practical, pointed out that I didn’t actually know any racecar drivers. She was right. Then she said, “Why don’t we just start it now?” And we did. We recorded my first two episodes during that drive, interviewing each other and sharing our own stories.
At the time, I knew nothing about podcasting—how to record, edit, or distribute episodes. Those early recordings are a bit rough around the edges, but the heart of each guest’s story still shines through. I’m grateful to those first guests and sometimes wish I could go back and re-record their episodes with the skills I’ve gained since.
Fast forward to today: I’ve just released episode 89(its actualy 90 because I numbered two episodes with the same episode number). Over the course of this journey, I’ve had the privilege of hearing incredible stories—some filled with laughter, others with deep reflection. At some point, I began asking each guest to share advice for living a better life. Their words have been a source of encouragement and wisdom.
Occasionally, I post solo episodes, usually inspired by the 53 questions Lauren sent me through Storyworth.com. These short reflections offer a glimpse into my own story.
I still aim to release one episode each week. That goal keeps me motivated. I’ve had the chance to speak with racers and people connected to the racing world, and there are still a few I hope to interview someday. Until then, I’ll keep having conversations with anyone willing to share—because I truly believe that Everyone Has a Story.
